Excellent idea! We have done that on my bro's TTR. We had a bit of a kerfuffle when grease started oozing out from under the handlebars and we then realised he was missing the rubber bung at the top of the fork stem
Picture 4 shows the nipple well below the shiny outer race of the top bearing - how does grease get to it?
I suppose they are used to fill the whole headstock with grease?
Better than Mr Yamaha's solution though.

Yes, once it's full a couple of pumps on the gun keeps it that way(grease is cheaper than bearings) i looked ay a way of attaching a collar to keep grease at the top but decided it was much easier just to fill the headstock
