Mystery object - nitro injector possibly.jpg

I recently bought a TTR for spares and found this little device on the handlebars. The pipe was fixed into the airbox.

It looks like an ordinary tyre "air bomb" that has been adapted but, what for confuse

All that remains of the sticker on the cannister is a large red F

My thoughts are that it was a device for injecting something (nitro?) into the airbox for perhaps an acceleration boost?

Anyone know what might have been in the cannister ?

Brian

It is a nitrous oxide injector! See http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p4340.m656&item=380176670010&clk_rvr_id=250988173475

Wow. Is that a bit 'Redneck'?
I've never really understood NOx. I get the more oxygen side of it but surely you need to add more fuel as well to take advantage of all that extra oxygen available to support combustion?

Am I being a bit too lab coat about this?

Very cheap though. Can you get a full cannister? Does it work?

Andy

Very redneck Andy but, as I have the kit, it is very tempting to buy a refill and try it wink
