hey all trying to diagnose a no spark issue

I did accidentally blow up the ignition coil trying to do a bench test on it so a new one is on the way however after checking a few things i'm not so sure the coil was ever the issue

few things I found:

voltage at the orange wire going into coil is consistently reading 18-20 DC volts while the battery is only at 12.5V also here a high pitch buzz comming from CDI with key turned on so possibly a bad CDI?

also tried to test if the pulse wire was pulsing (the blue white wire grounded to the ignition coil body) and it didnt seem to be to me, I hooked up a test light to postive terminal of battery and then probed it and it did not flicked on cranking over like I would expect.

so my next thought was possibly the pickup coil? measured the resistance there, it was in spec however the pickup coil wires also had continuity with the engine case which I think would mean the pickup coil is groudned to the case whihc is not good correct? so possibly need a new pickup coil as well?

any other things I should be checking or am I on the right track?

I will say I had thought my plugs kept fouling (bike also burns oil, seperate issue) but now I'm not so sure as I got a brand new plug before it "fouled" after about 5 min which is when I discoverd the no spark situation (tried another brand new plug after I "fouled" that one ) so possibly a CDI issue again?
