Distance Trips Set Up Tips

Hi Everyone

I've just acquired a TTR (See newbie section)

When fully prepped, I will be using the Bike for UK Trails, BOATS, UCR's (Green Lanes) AND longer extended trips to Europe using 50% on & 50% off Road trips of around 10 - 20 days.

I'm quite experienced Planning and Prepping these sort of 'Adventures' (This seems to be the new Trendy term!!) having done so for the last 20 years or so.

My next trip is the ACT (Adventure Country Tracks) Pyrenees in July '26, East to West, the trip is pretty much complete but thought I'd just ask if anyone else has done this trip and if you had any Tips or Tribulations you could share before we set of, I really like this 7 P's of wisdom when planning

One specific question that is whizzing round my head regarding Bike prep!

On the CRM I'm replacing with the TTR I use a Magnetic Tank Bag,  in addition to the comprehensive GPX Routes I plan, I like to have a Transparent Top Tank Bag for paper notes that cover weird junctions, complicated directions, Cafe Stops, Gas stations etc.

My TTR has the Plastic Tank so Magnets Not Applicable, plus the Tank has a vent tube out of the filler so I don't want to damage/compromise that, any suggestions and examples of a good solution would be welcome.

Additionally, (and I haven't explored this yet) has anyone used a screen based notes display, I have a spare iPhone 11 that I use Rally Blitz on for Distance check and adjustment, I'm thinking about trying to get the notes to work on Rally Roadbook Reader, has anyone done that???

Finally is anyone using the DMD T665 or the larger screen T865/T880 on a TTR if so is it as good as the Marketing leads one to believe.

All replies appreciated

Thanks Rob H
