Anyone using or investigated using Cloudflare for hosing their web pages?

I have had a big invoice from IONIS for web hosting so I am looking to move my web pages to another free or cheaper platform.

I am paying £18 pa for the ttr250.com domain plus £216 pa for hosting.

This is a lot of money for static HTML web pages which don't get a huge amount of traffic so I am looking at alternatives.

At the end of the day, I have not had a TTR in my garage for several years now but have stuck around to provided ongoing support for this wonderful trail bike. Even that has become less over time as owners have most of the information they are looking for either on this forum or on the ttr250.com web pages. Plus Simon, Steve and other owners have stepped up to provide help which is great!

So, any help to reduce my ongoing costs would be appreciated!

Cheers

Brian

HI

go with the free option if there is one, I know nothing about web sites though.

As for you this has been a great forum, however you have moved on it's been greatly apricated and has helped many of us out while keeping TTrs alive, maybe it's time for someone new to take over while trying a cheaper option of hosting the site .

from me it's a big thankyou

Thanks from me too Brian. Sorry for the costs you have to bear, I hope you find a cheaper alternative. I have no idea.

Ouch Brian, that's starting to get steep. I appreciate how you have always kept the advertisers away - I tire of the bike talk vlogs, motocross gear ads and offers of Ukranian wives on some of the other forums. I suppose our little niche would not generate enough traffic to encourage advertisers.

Can't help any other way - web hosting and such is most definitely not my field!

I urge anyone willing to help out to make a donation via the FAQ page paypal link.

Sorry to have misled you guys but I wasn't asking for financial help, appreciated though that is, but rather I was asking for help and advice on possibly changing hosting platforms to save ongoing expense.

Anyways up, I contacted IONOS about terminating my contract and they came back with a more sensible contract price and discount that better reflects the actual use of the ttr250.com website.

I was more than happy to accept the offer as I was not looking forward to learning a new platform/system and moving all my stuff.

So, the situation is resolved for now and you can be sure JOHNYBOY that I am not disappearing any time soon wink

I am very grateful for all the support I get so thank you guys!
