New to TTR - Still looking for my first bike.

Been lurking for a while, was undecided which first dually to get.

I considered XT350's, TT350's, XL400R, XL250R, WR250,

In the end though, I think I will need an elec start, plus I'm impressed with the community you all have over here, and support from Totally TTR.  As for the WR - a bit heavier, bit more to go wrong, plus that seat doesn't look as comfy as the TTR to me (opinions welcome).

So, I'm looking at some bikes, but they're mostly older white bikes (those purple wheels!), I really feel like if I don't go blue I'll regret it.

Any one of you want to sell me a bike, now that winter is coming on?  ;)

Jon.

Th TTr  25 has enough power and suspension to be a good Off road trail bike and also ok to cover black top to get to the dirt .

the electric start is great  ( just make sure the sprag clutch is ok as it can be pricey to replace , even more if you wait )

Maintenace is simple, most jobs are easily done at home. there's always help on hand Via this forum biggrin

there not a bike for people wanting to ride faster than average, not a great bike to jump, so if you want more power and handling maybe consider something else ,I can't think of a better bike for me  i ride mainly Bush and harder trails at an average pace .

air cooling is simple, I've seen a few water-cooled bikes have problems

Yeah £246 for the Sprag on TTTRS, and it's not even available.

Still, if that's the worst that ever happens not too bad.

I'm looking at (and maybe buying) a 93OE tomorrow, I'll be paying attention to the sprag for sure.  I also wonder about the metal tank for green laneing, would a plastic be better and do the blue tanks fit the white bikes? I know there is a 22L conversion but I'm not sure I want that.

And BTW I also have a 95 Xl600v Transalp, for the road mainly.

I bought my sprag and gears from Partzilla in USA , with free postage to Australia. they were all Yamaha parts and a lot cheaper than here . it was a couple of years ago though.

a few days from USA, against on back order from Yamaha Australia
