Thanks for having me. I live near York and have just bought a 250 Raid on a Q plate, with a lot of receipts for work done over the last few years. What I'd really like to do is find some history for it before it was SVA'd in 2006 Anyway I imagine I'll have a lot of questions and will try to contribute when I can. I bought it because I fancy some green laning, and owned one briefly about 20 years ago
Cheers, Richard It had been rep
EDIT - I've managed to get in touch with the person who SVA's it in 2006, from contact details on the VOSA paperwork. Turns out he bought it from a recovery firm. It had been recovered, presumed stolen, and no owner could be traced. he rebuilt it for the road. Another owner rebuilt it substantially in 2021-22 - I'm still trying to get in touch with them

Welcome to the forum Richard!
As Raid models were never officially imported to the UK, I suspect 2006 is likely to be when it first entered the country, as a grey import, so for more history you might need to learn Japanese!
Looks good. I like that colour scheme. Enjoy!
Morning. Yes that's possible, though I have a copy of the original VOSA application form for SVA, on which it says "rebuilt". Out of curiosity I'm trying to track down previous owners, including the person whose name is on the form I have a lot of receipts from more recently (2020-22), showing that someone else has done quite a lot - suspension rebuild, wheel bearings, even a piston kit, rings, valve stem oil seals and gaskets. thougb why the engine would have needed rebuilding I don't yet know. Wheels have been rebuilt with stainless spokes. Rims and frame powder coated (I have no paperwork for that). Previous owner thinks the bike is around a 1996 model, though the only date on the V5C is the registration date of 2006
