Parts Question

So I just purchased my TTR last Friday night and had been sitting for 2 years. I pulled the carb off and the front of the carb where it attaches to the cylinder head the rubber boot was splitand had tape around it. Does anyone know if they sell just the rubber boot or do I have to buy the entire piece that mounts to the cylinder head. Because I am nervous that those bolts are going to break off in the cylinder head during removal. Thanks in advanced for all of the help!

The two bolts have to come out.  The carb intake boot is molded onto the mounting bracket and is all one piece which makes it airtight.  Make sure there is an O-ring on the new boot.  Air leaking into this boot is a common cause of lean running conditions which eventually burn up and destroy intake valves.

I was afraid that was all one piece. I appreciate your reply, I'll get one on order and get it slapped on. Thanks again for help Jeff.

after my first two failed I put a cable tie around it to stop the pulsing as the valves opened and closed, been 100% in the years since. I'm hoping it will help keep the rubber stuck to the metal

Sounds like a decent idea. Which end did you put the Cable Tie around ?
The Flange End I would think but thought I’d ask anyway.
Cheers
