New purchase of what I understand to be a 1993 OE with a blue facelift and 263 bore.  The build was featured here back in 2011 by a well know super user.  Previous owner sent PDFs of the build.  I am wanting to get back out on the green lanes after a period of absence so thought this would be a fun bike and I do like a bike I can work on.  While the bike is in excellent condition, the first test ride highlighted some issues.

Bike will start and run on choke and if revs held will run, will stall without choke and off throttle when warm.  Some backfiring when throttle off, but now very consistent.  Will not restart when warm without a little choke.

I have completely stripped carb and going to give it a nice ultrasound bath and following the strip and rebuild journal from Brian, which is excellent.  Had to butcher the side cover screws!  Found that the carb was missing the seat check valve, I am sure I didn't loose it! The pilot screw was stuck and the O ring in poor condition, diaphragm appears to be in good condition.  I have ordered rebuild parts from Steve at Totally TTR's apart from the pilot screw O ring which is not currently available.  If anyone can point me to a suitable size and/or source it would be appreciated.

Hope to get the bike up and running by the weekend and hoping that the carb refresh will sort the idle and running issues. Not checked the intake stud, but it does appear visually to be in good condition.

Great resource here and already reading and learning plenty!

Cheers

Si
