When main tank is near empty, unusual behaviour
Permalink

I have noticed on my TTR250 2007, when main tank is near empty, before switching to reserve, the throttle seems to stay on, like it is sticking. It has happened twice now at the same time (just before main tank is empty. This is the first Carby motorcycle I have had in years so maybe this is normal. Can anyone confirm these strange symptoms. Is there something wrong with the carb, I gave it a total overhaul, nothing was missed.

The revs will rise when you are running out of fuel because it's running lean. If you don't switch to reserve the engine will stop shortly after. Don't worry, normal and not harmful!
