Blue 2004 TTR250 - 350 kit fitted for sale (now reduced to £3600)

Hi,

2004 Yamaha TTR350 trail bike that has had a frame up rebuild

It is with some sadness and many weeks deliberation that I am selling this bike due to health reasons.

This is the TTR250 that Brian (TTRfan) rebuilt from the ground up and as a 350cc machine, the build of which is referenced here:
https://ttr250.activeboard.com/t66290260/brians-350-build/?sort=oldestFirst&page=1

I have attached photos (I think) as if I embed the photos I cant preview the post. If the images dont appear I will try and upload them in a separate post attached to this one?

OK.

You tube video of starting and stopping the bike here:

Brian’s original text (reproduced below) that he produced for his (non published) sale ad which he supplied to me when I contacted him asking about purchasing the bike.
Brian didn’t object to me using the information and so here it is with slight adjustments on dates and mileage etc.

Reliable and economical four stroke with 6 gears - the perfect dual purpose commuter/trail bike.
First registered October 2005. MOT (full MOT – not a “daylight" one) until 17th November 2024.

(Three) Now four owners from new. (3,311) 3437 miles now showing on the speedo.
(Yes, sadly I have only put 126 dry (and all road miles) on the bike shamefully from the mileage that it was showing when Brian sold it to me).

The TTR has had a complete nut and bolt rebuild starting with a powder coated frame

Newly built 350 engine using the Totally TTRs big-bore kit. The kit is a brilliant bit of engineering and transforms the TTR. Lots of information about the kit here.
https://totallyttrs.com/epages/699105d9-e4cc-4b32-b236-84e72cd67f84.sf/en_GB/?ObjectID=23761373

The 350 engine was built and fitted in October 2020 at 2,559 miles at which point a new timing chain and sprag clutch was fitted along with new clutch plates and springs.
350 engine has therefore only done 878 miles from when it was commissioned.
I have not notified the DVLA of the capacity change so the V5 currently shows the TTR as 249cc. It will be up to the new owner to action this as they see fit.
Parts fitted:
1.    Oil cooler
2.    Renthal Dakar bars
3.    Symtec heated grips - the best option for dirt bikes!
4.    Totally TTRs special long clutch and throttle cables made by Venhill
5.    Polisport wrap-around handguards
6.    Enjoy Mfg seat cover and graphics set
7.    Motrax Micro Fairing rear indicators and Totally TTRs small front indicators
8.    Totally TTRs stainless steel tail tidy and number plate light
9.    Motad all stainless steel exhaust.
10.    Monsoon battery monitor - see here for Brians earlier representation of this on youtube:()
11.    Totally TTRs case saver
12.    Gold Plug magnetic sump plug
13.    Seger after-market horn - louder than the original!
14.    Totally TTRs lowering link fitted and front forks adjusted to keep balance
Also fitted are a Totally TTRs bashplate, CRD frame guards, tyre air valve seals and rimlocks with rimlock seals, extended seat bolts and wide footpegs.

I have additionally installed an optimate plug to make it easy to connect with my optimate III battery charger / conditioner.

The front forks have been rebuilt with new seals, oil and fork boots.
The TTR has both grab handles fitted and, as they are prone to rust, they have been powder coated along with the exhaust guard.
The full-size legal MOT-style number plate is shown in the ad but a smaller flexi plate will be included in the sale.
Dual start - electric AND kickstart
The TTR has a proper ignition switch (unlike many enduro bikes) plus steering
Full speedo and idiot light cluster with speedo in mph
Fully adjustable suspension front and rear to suit your riding style

A rare 350cc example of this sought-after bike. I doubt you will see another for sale any time soon!

There is a good range of after-market accessories for the TTRs from Totally TTRs - see http://www.totallyttrs.com/ . Totally TTRs also sell most of the common replacement parts as genuine Yamaha parts or proven after-market examples. Very little changed, other than cosmetics, between 1993 and 2006 so there are no worries about getting the correct spare part as can be the case with Honda XR250s etc.
Lots of information on this very popular and sought after bike at www.ttr250.com

Very economical and will do a day's trail riding on a tank of petrol. Plus it has an "all-day" comfy seat unlike more enduro-based machines.
This is the first TTR350 offered for sale as far as I am aware (although to be fair it will be the second time this 350 is for sale) and it is in very good order – you won’t be disappointed!

NB Whilst I have made every endeavour to ensure that the engine is working correctly prior to sale, I cannot give any guarantee whatsoever on it because of the nature of the special build and engine parts. There was a disclaimer in the piston box from Wiseco and the piston is the key component in the build. If the manufacturer cannot warrantee this part then I cannot warrantee the engine.

Excellent value at £3,800 NOW REDUCED to £3600

Bank transfer or cash on collection preferred please.

Bike is located in Shropshire 5 minutes from M54, 15 minutes from M6

Please contact me here in the first instance if there is any interest.

Thanks

Jeff

Hi,

I have taken my eye off this and not been in a particular hurry particularly with the wet and windy weather we have been having - maybe thats put people off traveling or looking?

Not sure why there has been no interest in my bike - apart from the price I guess although with the full build and 350 kit alone I think justifies the price and I am not looking to make money on this sale.

However, I have reduced the price now to £3600 as its time for it to go to a suitable new home and where it will get used as it was intended.

I will leave it on here a while longer but if it doesnt sell here on the forum (which I would prefer) then its off to the likes of ebay / autotrader etc. sadly.

P.S. I am also selling my 2003 Triumph Sprint RS 955i 14K miles owned by me since 2004 - £1800 as I'm presently getting out of bikes at least for the time being.

I hope that P.S.(for sale) is not outside the rules if so I will remove the Triumph from this post?

Hi Jeff - I am interested in your bike. I am away from the 5th May until the 19th in Portugal with my DRZ; but as soon as I am back, if the bike is still available, I would like to arrange to come up from Cornwall to have a look at it! I will keep and eye on this thread and contact you when I get back. Cheers - Sue Parker
