New 1994 raid owner

Hi all!

I’ve recently purchased a 1994 raid that needs nurturing back to life after sitting around for a number of years. I’m pretty impressed so far to be honest, it runs and despite sitting around it’s not particularly rusty.

So far I’ve overhauled the brakes ( the fluid in the front master cylinder had turned to jelly!), cleaned the carb, checked valve clearances and with the help of Steve from totally TTR I have replaced the broken clutch push lever spring (that was a bit of a job!) and put a new clutch cable on as the old one was very seized up.

I got given a refurbished OE swingarm with the bike so I’ll be looking to get that fitted, I assume its cross compatible with the Raid And then I need a new rear tyre.

plan is to get it up and running, MOTd and then go green laning. I’m based in northamptonshire so if anyone knows any local places to go I’d be very grateful to know.

Apologies in advance, I have some questions to ask on the forum but I’m looking forward to getting out and about on this as soon as possible!

Dean

Looks like a lovely bike! Nice one.

Only different bit you'll need to fit the OE swingarm is a slightly longer axle than is fitted in the raids steel swingarn.

Ya, what Nev said. There's a thread somewhere.

Awesome bike by the way! If you get bored with it I highly recommend the 350 kit. Makes it a new bike all over again!!!

thanks all, I did get a new rear axle with the bike so hopefully I’ve got everything I need but I’ll search through the forum before removing the old swingarm!
