Clutch switch

I’ve managed to rip the wires out of the back of the clutch switch. My TTR will now only start if it’s in neutral.

Logic says I should be able to join the two wires together and make it so it will start in neutral and in gear whether the clutch is pulled in or not. I’ve tried that as a temporary solution but the bike will still only turn over in neutral. As soon as it’s in gear it will no longer respond to the starter button.

Do I need to look deeper into the wiring or am I on the wrong track altogether?

Any help appreciated.

Giles

I’ve answered my own question while writing my original post. I still have an active side stand switch. I’ve been testing it while it was on the side stand.
It works perfectly as expected once I kicked the stand up.
Nothing to see here 😂😂😳
