Oil Leak - Generator cover gasket?

I thought I had an oil leak from the starter gear cover but was wrong.

It only leaks when I'm riding. Where would you recommend looking next?

Replacing the generator cover gasket?

Following. My bike has the same issue.

I saw the gasket available on PartZilla (US) for about $150... anyone know if it is available for less anywhere? TYIA.

NVM, I looked again and the gasket is only like $13... the whole aluminum cover goes for $150.  Derp!

I would take a look at the countershaft seal (the seal behind the sprocket), but the flywheel cover gasket is easy to change too. Just be careful to reseat the rubber grommet that the wires pass through correctly. (This could also be a source of your leak)

Neutral switch?

Take off the sprocket cover, clean the area thoroughly with brake cleaner, then go for a short ride to see if you can locate the leak. (A bit of baby powder sprinkled around first might help show where it's coming from before the drips start)

Good luck!

Thanks for feeding back what happened. Good to get a headsup on the after-market stator also.
