I have been a long time lurker on this forum and have found it to be a great resource for all and most interesting. I thought therefore I would joinup if not only to boost the membership.
I dont have an off road type machine and really never have had and I dont know if my bones / joints would actually take it these days so not sure if I would but that doesnt stop me from admiring various off road bikes and the TTR looks to be a 'good un'!
I actually used to live near Brian (and others) as I lived for 15 years in Teignmouth up until 4 years ago. Pity I didnt look into TTR's then. Oh well.
Hi Jeff,
Ooo another “Jeff” it must be catching !
I see that you are “only” 67 (a young pup)
I am 70.5 and still get out and about on my TTR as much as possible.
Not so many Bone Rattling rides these days but sometimes gravel roads are unavoidable 🤪.
I find that the sitting position of a Trailbike is just right for me.
The “Wrap-yourself-around-a-Fuel-tank” position is too uncomfortable for someone of 6’ tall.
That’s more for Jockeys.
There have been some really good looking TTRs coming up For Sale on this Forum recently.
Go on mate, be like Nike and “Just do it !”
You won’t get glared at if to want to stick to the Blacktop.
Brian is older than both of us and I’m sure he still gets out and about and enjoys it a lot.
Thank you Martyn and Jeff for your kind welcome and encouragement.
You never know!
Yes TTR’s would certainly have been cheaper years ago but I had a family to look after so money and time were let’s say at a premium.
New Zealand always looks fantastic and I would love to visit one day.
Hi UncleFZ,
Yes, I had the same “Life Constraints” but once the Mortgage and Kids had gone, coinage freed up and my TTR became available, so I grabbed it.
Had been away from ‘bikes for about 20 years but always had the urge to give it another go.
Certainly haven’t regretted getting back onto it.
Have now Retired.
You’d be very welcome to visit NZ.
The “Doors are finally wide open to Visitors.”
