is that fully synthetic? I know you have put new friction plates in and still having problems with your clutch slipping, has anyone else tried running fully synthetic and would it make your clutch slip?
If you have a manual, I would suggest looking at the clutch springs, as you have already checked the clutch cable and making sure the actuator arm is pointing in the correct posistion.
I have looked online and it says part synthetic. Is that not the one i need? i assume part synthetic may be more like 75% syn and 25 not? To be fair Steve i have assembled it all and put the oil in at 4am. i push the bike and release clutch in 1st and the back wheel locks as expected however sometimes if i push the bike in 2nd with the luctch released its like its just harder to push with no seeming rotation of the engine ... does this sound likt its the oil? or do i have to start the bike up first to send the oil to its places or does the basket have to spin fast to get rid of the oil i left on the plates when installing ? thanks Very tired i will be back online in 6 hours must sleep :D thanks again look foward to your reply
Hello, i just like to apogoisie for any confusion i may have caused, its just somethings have been quite problematic and after receving advice i think i know whats being explained but when infront of the machine i seem to be a little dazzled and i am to embarassed and dont want to be a pest to ask again. I would greatly apreicate it if someone could show me some photos of locating the acutaror arm ( i will explain my story in a moment) because i cant seem to find the reason after a new clutch replacement i am getting slip..
I just want to say how it has gone so you have the best picture. I got my new but old and neglected bike not too long ago which has been sitting in the barn/workshop for many many years at before hand. 6 months ago it was topped up with oil and was rode by my uncle who complained of clutch slip. Old and rusted in places. However after 6 months i was given the bike and i noticed it was stuck in gear :( After further inspection i noticed that where the kickstart plug is there was a peirce and i removed the cover and on the otherside confimed this.. With that sorted tempoarily i decided to look at the clucth plates and notice they was stuck to the back, unsticking them with a flat headed screwdriver i noticed the bikes clutch worked although a noticeable grinding noise of the clutch pack was due to it being drained of oil via kickstart hole and sticking together and starting to corrode. So stupidly i put the cover back on and filled her with oil bump started her and rid her a little and then again she was slipping her clutch! So i went to TTRSTORE.COM and got some 6 Friction Plates. Took the bike apart again fitted new clutch along with the steels i had in the bike previously ( i cleaned them the best i could ). Then i put the old oil back in after filtering it with a sock. Then in the garage i tested it , i pushed my bike in 1st gear and released clutch and it worked and locked the back wheel, then second and i did it and it whined and did not grip. So in the morning i got on my bike with 4 hours sleep and bump started it outside and she slipped a little and then grabbed and fired into llife.... however she was slipping in 1st 2nd and 3rd (most noticable in 2nd).. and i mean really really slipping bad. i can go slow and it pulls me but as soon as i put power down it was slipping... and now ! Now i can put my bike in gear and walk it around with that whining noise of the clutch (maybe) trying to grip, i have even tried a bump and nope!
I would like to apolgise if i am pestering but i would love some photos of how to check the actuator arm etc. but i do have some questions about my photos.
Here are my new friction plates thannks to Steve
My old clutch Steel Pats and my basket.
My questions are- The steel rings (if you zoom in) are inprinted also blakc stuff which totally will not remove the sopts are filled with dirt- I LEFT ONE DIRTY so you could see post cleaning. Is this a cause?
do i need to dry when i install my new friction plates?
Hows my basket looking, it seems burnt and some notched on the screw sleeves but not basket inner teeth.
Also the please scoll up to my oil chaing.. I got oil put it in a bike that had a stuck cluctch with no oil for 5 or six months and i reused that oil with my new clutch ... is that going to make my clutch slip ? Thank so much for you guys help i woulnt be doing this without yous!
