Hello.

Recently my ttr250 burned the stator (probably the original).

I bought an aftermarket one and installed it.

The bike charges ok now but,it runs bad,misfires,bogs and when i release the throttle it bangs loud from the exhaust and spits fire.

I re-installed the original to se and the bike runs ok.

I cut and installed the old flywheel sensor thinking it was the culprit.Runs bad again.

I'm out of ideas now.I cant explain how the stator affects the engine.

Any hints and ideas?

Can't remember - does the flywheel sensor mount to the stator? - the issue seems to point to incorrect timing from incorrect position.

It mounts on the cover.That is what i thought at first.But with the new stator and old sensor it runs bad.

Does it run ok with the old stator and new sensor?
You're probably getting bored of taking it apart again and again!
Have you tested the stator windings (continuity and resistance)?

ring west country windings for readings very helpfull people if readings not correct he will rewind stator for you i have used them for donkey years john

My response might be a tad boring . As well as restance the number of turns and the magnetic field combine to create impedance . If not the same as the original the trigger cool will fire the CDI at the right time but the voltage may not be correct to fire the coil 

The coil current is the discharge of the primary voltage from a capacitor and the windings at just the right time .

 In a nut shell Everything must be working together .

 

The replacement ones look great but may not match the rest

@ttboof i believe i understand what you try to explain.I have an idea,i dont know if it makes sense,but i will check if the stator lines up on the cover just like the original,maybe the holes are of and so creates a different field?I will send the original to rewind.I believe the aftermarket one was a waste of money and time after all.And electric parts are not returnable.

Problems solved!
I took the stator several times off.Checked and checked everything many times.I also bought a new regulator.
Made no difference.
Yesterday i went to check things over for one more time.
It turns out it the coil plug wire was not making good contact.I'm sure i checked it many times before and wiggled it many times.
But everything works ok now!
