Hi Everybody

I bought a 1993 TT250R open enduro last year. It started using oil and smoking like a 2-stroke. I used a boroscope to inspect the cyclinder wall and found vertical scrathes. I think the previous owner allowed sand to drop-in when change the sparkplug. I believe that the cylinder needs to be bored. Do anybody know of a engineering business that can do it? What is the cost cylinder bore and honing.I am living  near twickenham. I am planning to replace the valve stem seals.

I hope somebody can help me. Thanks

Welcome to the forum!
I'm afraid I don't know anyone close to you. My local machinist (and the one who machines the 350 big bore barrels) is Simon Bateman at Nametab Engineering in Redditch, 01527 60395. You can post the barrel and new piston and he will machine and hone the barrel. I can't remember how much he charges, I would guess at 50 - 70 quid, but don't quote me, give him a call.
Good luck,
Simon.
