Cheers Archie is 6 months old today, he is a good looking boy & when I walk him I spend half the time letting females of all ages pat him & say hello.

Ah the weather is perfect ATM, blue skies 25-28c most days, we are lucky here in Australia plus covid is not a big issue

Not a big fan of cold weather but I guess you get used to it, I lived in Northern Ireland on the coast until I was 14yrs old...I remember the cold mornings

How was the covid jab Brian, no ill effects ? Any ideas when Boris will let you back out

I felt a bit off colour the day after the jab but not enough to stop me doing what I needed to. Apparently this is a sign of a good immune system. Most people I have talked to have had no side effects at all. It is now 3 weeks since I had the Astra Zenica jab so now have pretty high immunity. Another couple of months and I get my second jab. The NHS is getting the job done really well and younger Mrs TTR had her first jab today so all good. Nearly 22 million vaxed so far in the UK - about a third of the adult population which is nearly 68 million.

This is the order of our England rule lifting, starting next Monday with schools going back:

- In the first phase, all schools in England will open from 8 March, and people will be allowed to socialise in parks and public spaces with one other person from that date.

- From March 29, when the school Easter holidays begin, groups of up to six people or two households will be allowed to gather in parks and gardens.

- From April 12 at the earliest: shops, hairdressers, nail salons, libraries, outdoor attractions and outdoor hospitality venues such as beer gardens will reopen.

- From May 17 at the earliest, two households or groups of up to six people will be allowed to mix indoors and limited crowds will be allowed at sporting events. The international travel ban currently in place will be reviewed further down the line, with 17 May the earliest possible date for a holiday abroad.

- From June 21 at the earliest, all remaining restrictions on social contact could be lifted, larger events can go ahead and nightclubs could finally reopen.

Gee we thought it was harsh when we had a 3 day lockdown, but each state controlled their borders & movement between states was restricted during some periods. Road transport was still moving between states suppling goods.

We loved the beer gardens when over in the UK, dogs allowed as well. We were over in the UK in 2008, 2014 & 2016, NZ might be on the cards as it might be the only overseas country we can visit for a while, we were there in 2013 & 2016...good bike riding in NZ

Hi Terry and fellow TTR folks,
Yes, NZ is paradise for our style of ‘biking.
Have had a couple of Covid Community Cases but they are always in Auckland and the Government just Lock it down while leaving the rest of NZ at lower Lockdown Levels.
We are currently coming out of the latest one of these so restrictions are lessening again.
My Wife and I are currently touring the South Island in our Jeep Renegade and are seeing more wonderful TTR countryside.

Absolutely right Graeme - usually cold, wet and miserable here over the 6 months or so of winter cry

PS The only plus is we don't have to dodge drop bears when we are out trail riding biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin

Saw a drop bear yesterday walking on a footpath next to a main rd, level with us on the edge of the hills.

When I was out on the WRR Friday I had a deer run across the dirt road in front of me, 15-20ft away I guess, I always take it easy in that spot as I've come across plenty of Roos crossing there & I have seen deer there before

Not sure what you guys over in the UK hear of know about the dangers of trail riding in Australia, will list a few below not in any order but Emu's are the most stupid thing ( bird) they don't have a brain !!!!

Roos, we get some big buggers 6' easy but the noise of the bike drives them away in most cases, but I have hit a few

Sheep, not very often unless a fence is broken, almost as stupid as an Emu

Goats, smarter than sheep & only really come across them up in the Flinders ranges

Snakes, not an issue if you got boots on, I have clipped a few with the front wheel

Emu's bloody stupid buggers but a real danger if they have chicks, the dad will chase a bike & injure the rider !!!!

Dual cab utes or 4 x 4's always seem to come across them on a bend with them on the wrong side of the road

The threat of Drop Bears just makes us better riders, riding faster and more motivated for mistake free riding.

In hilly country it is the Loop Snake you have to look out for. They are so fast on the downhill and their light weight gives them superior handling through the curves, they are a real challenge. smile

I thought the loop snake was the caught up in the wheel spokes LOL
