My 1997 Open enduro is regrettably for sale, the bike has had some restoration work done but I have broken my right clavicle twice since buying it so riding is completely off the table. Has approximately 25k miles and is mechanically/electronically sound.
Starting with the pictures.
The kitten in the background is called Thor, he is not included in the sale.
Seat cover and front mudguard are practically new, various extra bits too. Wider pegs, new fork boots, renthal bars, polisport handguards, polybush rear shock mount. Currently does not have an MOT but will be given one this week which we expect to pass, going over the work we have done to the bike follows:
- Carb cleaned and fuel filter added, we had some issues with dirty fuel which have been solved, bike starts up and runs great now. Carb breather pipes missing when we bought but replaced now. Also has new diaphram o ring seals x2 and float bowl seal fitted. Comes with a full carb repair kit bought from totallyTTR, minus the seals I have already replaced.
- Exhaust and heat shield have been repainted, plus new stainless steel exhaust clamp and graphite exhaust gasket.
- Rightside panel had been repaired by a previous owner with plaster after it was punctured by the exhaust. The plaster broke off on my first ride, I have repaired it again with plastic welding. Looks not great but is functional, cover it up with a sticker if it bothers you. Rubber grommet behind it has also been replaced.
- Oil and filter change.
- Rust spot on tank repainted, its underneath the seat on the left side but not visible with the seat on. The tank looks good underneath.
- Some bolts replaced from the TotallyTTR shop, heat shield bolts, right footpeg bolts, screws on carb float bowl.
- Brand new battery.
- New ignition barrel from totallyTTR, new cover for the back, two keys.
- Two new indicators on rear.
- Full original toolkit on the bike.
I think thats it for work we have done to it, heres the bad bits.
- Looking at the pictures you'll see the rear mudguard has been torn up and the bump stop is buggered, unfortunately this has also pulled the airbox down and bust a couple of the mounts. The airbox isnt cracked and still functions fine, it is secure when fastened in just a pain when you're working on the bike. I imagine this was caused by a fat rider bottoming out the bike, unfortunately I missed it when buying it. I have a replacement bump stop which will come with the bike. As well as new bolts for the mudguard as I had planned to do it.
- Front headlight isnt stock.
- The frame has been sprayed over black, the original paintwork is still visible in places. Original paintwork is underneath the tank too and still looks good there.
And that is it.
I have some extra bits that will be included in the sale also - New bump stop, bolts for rear mudguard, carb repair kit, carb drain screw, oil filter seal and o rings, I will update this list when I have checked what I have.
The bike is ready to go for road/offroad use but would also make a good project for someone with the time. Open to offers and would consider a p/x with a campervan.
The bike is still for sale its in East Yorkshire near Hull. It has passed an MOT today. It failed on a rear lower suspension bearing (The middle bearing on the arm that connects the frame, rear shock and swing arm.) Had the oil seals, bearing and collar replaced to fix that and all is good. Also failed on a running light on the rear, thats been done too. £200 in total my wallet is crying right now.
The bike will be going on Ebay either later tonight or this weekend.
