Got out today on the TTR, no rain but not real warm over the ridge. Rode out to the Barossa valley near Lyndoch, nice windy dirt / gravel roads. Nice & green & getting used to the Adventure tyres but even though they are great on the blacktop I don't know if I would fit them again, the idea was to keep the TTR for the easier gravel roads & some blacktop & use the bike more for Adventure rides unlike the WRR that earns it's keep on summer tracks using MT21's front & back
The OEM tank decals have now been removed, the right side was falling off today, I do have a set from Ballards I might put on at some stage
Yea still like riding the TTR, it feels really smooth with the standard 14/44 gearing & Adventure tyres, All gravel roads but twisty with a couple of summer tracks or dry weather roads thrown in.
Forgot I slipped the forks up the triple clamps by 5mm after the last ride as I didn't like the lack of grip & slow steering at the front. That would be why it felt better, running a standard 120/80 size rear tyre & is still stable at speed, happy with the result so far.
I have both the TTR & WRR with rego so taking it in turns & love the differences between these 250 dual sport Yamaha's.
I should add that here in South Australia we have had only 8 deaths from CV19 & no recorded cases for 10 days, we never had the restrictions that were in place in other states so we are really lucky and for me only 7kms to the dirt but I will add I have not stopped at bakeries coffee etc.
I only get off the bike to take a photo or two & have been riding by myself. I guess it will take a while for the guys in the UK to get back out, we are so lucky to have the space & fresh air to enjoy our hobby.
Can't wait till they let us all back out, but thing's will be different for a long while
Lots of Vineyards around the Barossa valley, I would have gone past at least 10-12 yesterday, if you Google Barossa Valley wine area Lyndoch that's the area I was riding in.
The Barossa is pretty famous for it's wine on the world market, that was three vineyards I took the photos from all within a 10km area.
