20th Anniversary Blue TTR - article in TBM magazine
Permalink

Found an old TBM magazine from July 2000 and realised its now 20 years since the Bluey ttr came out .

I Bought one coming from a Suzuki Ts100 and as you can imagine i was amazed by it .Like going from a Fiesta to a Range Rover .

Put up pics of the article along with a bike add showing the prices back then .Motoward were the here i got any bits for the TTR at the time .I dont know if they still exist .

20 years go frightfully fast .

I bought my Blue TTR new in May 2013 for the grand total of $6000 au including on road & 3 months rego plus $250 to spend in shop

Pretty good deal really & apart from many many tyres, usual service items it has cost me nothing, bash plate, hand guards, levers, bars & mirrors plus a staintune muffler that's it

A quick question from your knowledge base.  I have a TTR250 with the factory GYTR muffler, love it except its loud.   I recently bought my son an older TTR250 and it has a White Brother E series muffler .  Half the noise and good to ride with in the bush.

Question can the GYTR be silenced down at all?

Or I can get a second hand Staintune , cheap can these be silenced, to similar levels as the E Series, or will they be just as loud as the GYTR.  Or should I wait for a White Brothers to come along

Thanks Grahame

Staintune are loud, louder than the GYTR in my opinion.

Hi Rossyboys,
The GYTR Muffler on my TTR has a small baffle in it.
It’s held in the end by a small nut and bolt which can be easily removed for more noise 🤪
It’s really just a 50mm tube with holes drilled in it but it quietens things down a lot.
Cheers
Jeff
