Well, I did check and I was trying one way and not the other. I'll open it up again and check. However I tore the gasket when I opened it earlier and now there's a an oil leak... Sigh.
Well, I took it down a very steep hill that I usually use to bumb start and it just locked up the rear tyres. When I rocked it in heat I hear a very soft pop when the bike was rocking backwards.
I did have it too dead center.
I'm tempted to take it to the bike shop to get the guy to fix it. I know I shouldn't...

With the plug out, will the engine turn freely using the flywheel bolt. Just worried there may be a cam timing issue and valves hit piston when you say the wheel just locked up.

Gears select properly? Can you push the bike along and find all the gears, plus neutral? Or take the plug out, lift the rear wheel, turn it and change gears.
You tried to bump start it, so the clutch disengages.
That also implies that the gearbox is turning correctly, at least in the gear you used for the bump start.

Just a quick update. I've had some problems with getting the carb set up right. She seems to be running a bit lean still. I think I will try and find a specialist and just throw some money at him!

Also, it seems that my cam chain tensioner died... I started to get some odd noise when I turned off the bike. I couldn't figure it out so, off the the bike shop again. After two weeks of waiting I went down to the shop to see what was going on. I was kind of shocked. Most of the engine was in pieces all over the place! He said it was right pain in the A$$ to figure out just what was wring... While the bike was in the shop I also had him do the rear swing arm bearings.

I can't wait to get it back. I've been riding my ttr250. It's soooo boring! I really miss the grunt that the 350 gives the bike.

Oh, I found that at wide open throttle there seems to be no more power to the rear wheel. It seems that the clutch is slipping. So, we put shims under the clutch springs. Hope that fixes that!

P.S. The bike likes to pull wheelies in third gear. Haven't had a chance to try 4th yet due to the clutch problems. I'll get the bike back this weekend and update.
