Indicator wiring and installation

So my TTR250 20016 blue model confuses me a bit. The only remnant of indicators is the indicator switch on the handlebar. There aren't even any holes or brackets where indicators used to be. Also no trace of a relay on the harness. So I've gone and bought LED indicators as well as the appropriate relay. I have very limited experience with wiring vehicle electronics so I'm not entirely sure if my harness even has the appropriate connectors.

So to start I'm just trying to figure out what all the connectors on the standard blue model harness do so I have something to work with. Which one of the connectors plug into the flasher module?

Here is what I think I know on the attached pic:

1. No idea

2. no idea

3. no idea

4. no idea

5. brake light switch?

6. no idea

7. Starter/solenoid?

8. rear indicators

9. L or R front indicators

10. L or R front indicators

1. No idea - indicator wires - runs along RH subframe rail

2. no idea - indicator wires

3. no idea - horn connectors

4. no idea - if the wire to the bullet connector is blue then it is for the neutral switch

5. brake light switch? - no - it goes to the little solenoid earth loom (see photo "battery earth wire.jpg")

6. no idea - rear brake light switch

7. Starter/solenoid? - correct

8. rear indicators - no - they are brake light, tail light and earth wires

9. L or R front indicators - correct

10. L or R front indicators - correct

11. Side stand safety switch

I have put in your list what I am pretty sure are the correct connections. I have also added some photos which might help.

Steve has various indicator brackets on his shop website including some used ones that may do what you want - see here

I attach some more photos that may help show you the wire routing.

The only decent wiring diagram I have is for the US model without indicators but have attached it anyways as the wiring codes for the rest of the loom should be the same as yours.

I have circled your relay connector in purple and attached a photo of mine. Brown and brown/white wires.

It's a bit blurred but this is what I used to sort the loom on my TTR.

Thanks so much for your help. I'm starting to think my TTR was imported from the US since I have found no trace of indicators ever being present nor the wiring. My TTR also came with only the left side mirror and no threaded hole on the right side to add one. Sounds like some US state law stuff. Is there any way I can know for sure where the motorcycle was manufactured?

Yamaha customer services may be able to tell you if you give them your frame number.

However, a simple check would be to see of you have the rear number plate holder tabs on the rear subframe loop. If you don't then I am 99% sure it was made for the US market - see photo below.

Interesting! Do you have the toolbox mounts on the LH frame support? The US models don't.

You said that you don't have indicator wires in your loom but it would seem odd that a PO would replace the original loom with a US spec one confuse
