Blue TTR250 Plastic headlamp surround repair

Got a knock yesterday and the left hand plastic lug that comes back and bolts to the headstock now has a length of around 2-3 cm missing in the middle.

If I can get some plastic sheet it looks like I could glue this to the remains of the lug at the surround end.

Anyone had any experience of repairing the plastic surround? What materials and glue did you use...?
