Accelerator pump cover gasket?

4GY-14958-00-00 When I took off my accelerator pump cover it had a paper gasket. There is nothing on the parts fiche for this part, and I looked up the part and it doesnt look like it comes with one. It does have O-Rings. Does anybody know if these come with paper gasket as well? Is it Needed? Could have been put there by PO but I doubt it. If so, how can I replace this? Cut it out of paper gasket maker? Where can you get that stuff?

No need for a paper gasket, I have never seen a diaphragm cover with one.

Hi Dan

You will find lots of good information here

There can be a problem with the diaphragm cover leaking if it is replace with old flattened O rings and/or a damaged diaphragm. This is what the guide says:

Dress the surface of diaphragm cover by rubbing it in a circular motion on some 240 grit wet & dry paper on a dead flat surface to give the best chance of getting a fuel-tight seal. Then refit the diaphragm, O rings, spring and cover plate with its two screws. Getting the spring in can be tricky. It needs to be balanced on top of the diaphragm with the float bowl upside down. Make sure the spring and O rings stay in place as you fit the cover.

It makes sense to replace the two little O rings (part number 5Y1-14397-00-00 or buhere) when re-assembling.
