Me and Brian will be doing a shock rebuild tomorrow, as new ones are no longer available. We are hoping it will be easy enough for owners to do themselves.
To the very best of my knowledge, there isn't another shock absorber that will fit the TTR250. However, it has been said that the WR (can't recall if it was RF or WRR) internals would fit but my thoughts are that, if you can get the correct TTR parts, why take the chance and go to the expense?
As Steve says, we have a TTR250 rear shock that has lost all its pressure so we are getting together tomorrow to strip it down, replace the seal head, re-fill with oil and re-pressurise. If it all goes to plan we should end up with a good working shock repaired with very little expense
We will be taking lots of photos along the way and produce (hopefully) a comprehensive "show and tell" web page that will help other owners tackle the job.
Brian
PS I hope you don't mind me having tidied up your posts but it might have got confusing if we had different threads running in several folders all on the same topic
