Looking to buy Rear Shock in Australia
Permalink

Hey everyone,

Looking for a rear shock for a blue TTR250 as mine has **** the bed. Happy to pay postage or come and pick-up if you're within driving distance of sunny Canberra.

Failing this, anyone know a good place in the area to get a shock rebuilt, am having no confirmation and a long wait time of the shop its currently in.

Thanks,

Tyler

Theres a shock on ebay at the moment for $159 in Melbourne plus $11 bucks postage. Seller says its not rusted or leaking and in working order....

Personally i would rather put that money into a rebuild of my own shock. At least you know it has fresh oil and seals, and get a revalve done especially the rebound at the same time.
They are rebuildable so send it off to a suspension specialist.
Lots of the WR YZF parts can fit in.

I've got one in my shed I had rebuilt / revalved by Choice Suspension (Kyneton) but I'm hanging onto it, I'm thinking about getting a white early model doing it up and putting it on Club Rego.
I recommend the revalve at the same time as the rebuild too.

The guy at the suspension shop reckons my master piston is pretty damaged and that it would likely need donor parts to ever work again unfortunately. Luckily I found one on gumtree for $100 so hopefully its all good! Off of a 98 so has likely seen some ****.
