After the storms of late it been a bit of a challenge getting over and around trees so took the trusty chainsaw out this morning  and got three tracks open got plans to do another soon

Not sure how many I cut but there quite a few stopped when the car said it was 39deg must be getting soft

Sure was a lot of wind that snapped a lot of trees off halfway up or uprooted them  a lot were hit by lightning  with big 6 foot splinters all over the place

Did 120 k ride today and there have been a lot of people out with saws clearing their favorite  tracks

Still plenty down but adds to the ride

Hope to get out and clear another track on Monday

It's best not to clear national parks here but state forest turn a blind eye as they don't have the funds to do it themselves.

We have been Lucy with only a couple of storms but the dry season came early and the controlled burns didn't happen for yet another year so the scrub is getting a bit thick and encroaching on the single track. We don't have enough traffic to keep them used and clear but quiet is also  good

whats that you are driving??
I tend to not ride over summer its too hot and dry and dusty. Its ok in a 4WD with air con though. ;)

Its amazing how the single tracks are hard to find after a few months of no one riding them. They are covered over and hidden by gum leaves and bark. The gums seem to drop a heap of leaves in the hot weather.

The forests regenerate so quick. Recreational users are the ones who keep the tracks open for access for Fire services etc.

Good job.

It's just a 2wd Hyundai Tuscon  my work car  . The air-con is good to get into between chainsaw stints. Is a bit limited where it goes but does OK

It's a bit warm I got out on the bike for a few hours this morning but set off at 6am . A good ride
