Help! I forgot to set cam TDC before removing them!

Hello everyone, and as the title says, i forgot to set my motor to TDC before i removed the top end for a re ring and cleaning. My question, what do i need to do in order to make sure i have no problems after reassembly? I know how to set the timing etc. but i am concerned that i forgot to do this before i disassembled the top end.....Someone please tell me what i need to do or can i just reassemble as normal and set timing like i normally would? Thanks!

It's OK

Just set up with marks as per the thread on here or  the manual

As long as you set up using the tdc  mark and the Cams lined up you will be OK

No need to set at tdc when pulling it down

A good tip in Brian's thread is to carefully turn it over before you finish off and crank it

Just to make sure it's all OK

Bring the crank/piston to TDC any TDC as there is no right or wrong stroke
till the cams are timed..

just keep a eye on the cam chain as you turn it over to make sure it dosn't get snagged..

Hi Colin and welcome to the forum!

I am guessing that the big lump of plastic you are asking about is the emulsifier and is there to take out any water or oil mist before it hits the airbox. All to do with emission control to stop the oil breather fumes going straight into the atmosphere - or all over your bike cry

Otherwise it is the resonator box higher up wink

More info here - tag on to this thread if you have any further questions about these parts please - https://ttr250.activeboard.com/t51169250/yamaha-energy-induction-system-yeis-boost-bottle-air-chamber/  biggrin
