is lithium grease safe to use on the ttr250 chain. I work with several people who use lithium grease on their chains because it is so cheap. Would this harm the chain since it is an o-ring chain, does it work well, does it last long on the trails? Thanks
I don't think it would harm the chain - it won't damage the rubber anyway. BUT it will attract grit and dust, which will wear the chain and sprockets rapidly, and it won't penetrate into the links, so I think the only positive reason to use it would be to keep corrosion away.
I wouldn't.. but then I don't use any chain lube offroad.. I use gear oil.. then wipe it off.. I've found any sticky lube can just attract and dust and grit and it wears quicker.. so I use gear oil to soak it goes into the rollers easy and then then wipe off all I can then go riding.. I know some are using dry lube PTFE type. But can't say as ive not tried it. Si
