Kickstarter screw replacements
Permalink

Hi totally ttr,

I am just about ready to order a bunch of bits for my 1993 Open enduro. The list is quite long and I'm trying to find replacement parts for my kickstarter, I have already found a ball bearing and spring. But I need a screw to replace mine that has sheared at some point. The screw on the kickstarter here is what I'm trying to find a replacement for:

Kickstarter

I'm not sure where I could get a replacement, and I haven't been able to find any specs on the screw. Any thoughts guys?

Thanks, Mat.

Can't see a part number listed for the bolt, just tried to take mine out to measure it and no way that is going to be removed without some heat! Maybe Bri will know the measurement?

That must have been how mine was broken perhaps biggrin. If I remember rightly too, the hole/screw head is angled to slot together nice and snug.

I covered the kickstart lever spring and ball bearing in the Addendum of this show and tell http://ttr250.com/TTR_retrofitting_kickstart.htm

But I didn't take any measurements of the retaining screw and don't have one here to measure - sorry!

KICKSTART ASSEMBLY

This is from a serow 1987 and also listed for the WR250f may be worth a try?

Yamaha part number 90152-06010

(thanks to Bri)

Thanks for the replies guys, I had read through the kickstarter retrofit guide in hopes of finding some details on the screw, or where to buy a replacement, with no such luck. If there's no part number for the screw, then perhaps its just bog standard screw?

Ttr steve I'm not sure if you meant to link to something in your reply. But by the power of google-fu, I was able to find this:

https://racetechtitanium.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=941

It looks like a close match and the kickstart on the YZ bikes is the same style as the TTR250. I just have to see if I can find a UK seller.

Try Yamaha part number 90152-06010 which is the Serow one - can't guarantee it's the same as the TTR but there must be a good chance it might fit!

Bri

I put that part number in google and got this

From CMS and looks nothing like our ones

Bolt photo

The racetech one looks the same, but I can't confirm.

The Serow kickstart screw is a good match, looks almost the exact same as the racetech screw and the one in the bike. I'm lucky enough to have a Yamaha dealer just up the road from where I live, so I've got a serow kickstart screw and spring on the way friday hopefully. As well as a few other bits I couldn't find elsewhere. I also picked up a 5.5mm bearing online, had to buy a ten pack but they were cheap as chips anywho.

Had the carb and airbox out of the bike too to give em a well needed clean and sort out some poor running I had. Bike should go back together soon and I'll make a follow-up post if I don't mess that up (And definetely if I do mess it up).

I really appreciate the help guys.
