I have a removed the side case and cleaned out the gause and it was full gasket or some other type of plastic (needs new cam chain and maybe slide rubbings)
I could do with some info on the following:-
Here is a video with the nut cracked below the filter housing. https://db.tt/iO2UF2r8xU
How much oil should come out from the top of the oil line when the banjo is removed?
Should the oil pump be pumping pressured oil if so then it should be coming out the hole as shown on the video?
How do you know if the cam chain is worn? on my bike on TDC both cam sprockets tilt to the left but the bike runs fine, os there a way of checking the chain tensioner to indicate wear?
I think you have removed the banjo bolt that covers the return feed from the oil cooler when fitted. If you want to check that your engine is pumping oil then the check bolt to take out is the 10mm one front top of that casing.
If the pump is working then you should get a significant amount of oil coming out so be prepared with a rag.
It would be worth you getting a workshop manual which includes a diagram showing how the oil flows through the TTR engine - see here
This extract from the manual shows the correct position of the camshaft sprockets at TDC. What do your cam sprockets look like at TDC?
Or in real life:
Ideally the lines should be parallel. If one is obviously off at angle then that is usually a sign of a worn camshaft.
If they are both off at an angle then the chain may have been installed a tooth out. Make sure you are checking with the single line on the flywheel for TDC - not the double one

Yes i Have a manual and when I remove the bolt out it does not pump out the 10mm hole, i am going to have a look at the oil channels tonight failing that il have to remove the pump (I take it there ain't a test i can do while the pump is in position), would the bike run ok a tooth out on the camp chain? as it starts first time every time but they are both out (i will take pictures later)
If you don't know the history of the TTR then there is a (remote) chance that the previous owner had an oil cooler on it that was taken off to be sold separately.
Like kickstart kits, oil coolers are like hen's teeth and fetch a lot of beer tokens.
When an oil cooler is removed the internal bolt has to be replaced with one of a different length to allow the oil to circulate internally rather than through the cooler. If not changed then no oil pumped around the engine = costly repair bill
Check out the oil cooler thread to see what the lengths of the bolt are.
TTRs will run with the cam chain a tooth out but will miss and fluff at higher revs and not make full power.
Hi Brian, yes there is a blanking plug in that hole on the video. I was just seeing if i could see any oil pumping through that oil way and it seems i took the return out by mistake, how much oil should come out the banjo at the top of the head if the bike is running ok? I will take a picture of cams for you too see
Brian believe it or not ive just found this! what length should it be as it bolt blocks the feed hole? Do you know the thread size? and i don know the history of this bike so god knows how long its been blocked
