New to off road bikes at 65
Permalink

Hello Malcolm Woods from Norfolk here, just got my first off roader, its a 1997 Yamaha 250 with 7000km. I am sure it was an import and now worried that i will not be able to get parts, do anyone know what the equivalent british import would have been i.e. xt250 maybe? As i have no handbook. is the chain set as a normal road bike? Cannot wait to join a green lane club and have some fun. any help will be greatly appreciated

.Thank you

Hi Malcolm and welcome to the forum!

If it's a TTR250 then parts are readily available.

Totally TTRs is a good start - see http://totallyttrs.com/

How about a photo to give us a chance of identifying the bike for you?

Brian

Its an OE (open enduro), same as mine which is a 98. Steve in the shop has always had everyting ive needed in stock. So far pads, disc, clutch a spoke set, a piston, brushes for starter and lots of tempting stuff on yhe shelf.
Probably the easiest 20 year old bike to gets parts for.

Hi welcome to the forum Malcolm , you have probably picked one of the best bikes to get spares and technical back up , this forum has lots of info and helpful members , steve at totally ttr is your man for spares , I've got a couple of ttrs and love them , join your local TRF group and you will soon be away on the lanes. There are a few of us older boys (66) riding ttrs and a few young ones too.   Bob
