We have a forecast of more heavy snow so I went to the local supermarket on the TTR250 earlier to buy a spare bottle of gin.

I put it inside my riding jacket but, just as I was about to pull away, I thought to myself what might happen if I fell off and the bottle broke. So I drank all the gin before riding home.

Just as well I did coz I fell off the TTR 7 times on the way home!

This is a true story:

When I was about sixteen I had a friend, Ian, who had a GPz 305 and a job. He decided to flash the cash and treat his friends (and me) to a KFC bargain bucket. Since I was a fellow biker, I had a "fizzy", I was allowed to be pillion on the 305 and assist with collecting the food.

We rode the nearest KFC and loaded up with a bucket of chicken and a couple of large cokes. Luckily my jacket was big enough for me to sit on the bike with it zipped around the bucket and have the cokes balanced on top.

Being teenagers we shot off down the road as fast as the 305 would go until Ian misjudged how quickly the next set of traffic lights would change. He slammed on the brakes and managed to stop the bike before we went straight through the red light.

Unfortunately the laws of physics meant I stopped slightly after the bike. I slid up the seat squashing the chicken and coke between me and Ian. The coke only had one way to go which was straight up in the air. Most of it went up the front of my crash helmet nearly drowning me in fizzy goo, the rest ended up as a marinade for the chicken.

That crash helmet was still sticky when gave it to the next owner of my fizzy. :0
