Small torsion Spring replacement!

Hello folks, how does one separate the mechanism to replace the small torsion Spring? The large one I'd obvious and straight forward, but cant see how it comes apart to fit the small Spring! Push fit? Cheers in advance biggrinconfuse

It's the smaller torsion Spring the returns the gear change mechanism biggrin

There are two springs that return the gear change lever to its resting position, it sits just under the clutch. I've bought both springs, the larger one is obvious and easy to change, the smaller Spring is attached to the mechanism and somehow needs to be split to replace the Spring. Obviously I don't want to damage it, but can't figure how it comes apart 😳

If so, the manual isn't helpful cry

Looking at the fiche diagram, you would need to remove the pin on which the spring sits - see below:

If the pin isn't re-usable it seems odd that Mr Yamaha sells the spring as a separate part but not the pin confuse

Ah good, so I'm not a total eejit, nice one Brian. I think Mr Yamaha is a very naughty boy, I'll leave the old one where it is then and hope the bigger new one torsions things up! Again thank you Brian
