1997 TTR250 Open Enduro - recent Wiseco piston

Bought in April 2016 to satisfy a "moped" challenge with the team from work that was settled as off-roading up in the Peaks, including riding there and back (I'm in Peterborough). Bought from Terry Rudd Motorcycles although it was a part ex for him so he spent no time on it. I quickly found a few things wrong, and with a panic of the ride I decided also to take on a rebuild. So the clutch was changed, and I did a top end rebuild including the largest oversize Wiseco piston using a different cylinder (which was rebored). Whilst in bits I replaced all of the valves for brand new, cleaned up the ports and matched them to the inlet. I also added a Sigma carb kit and racing filter - American make (I can't remember), not to mention the FMF (which currently has the spark arrester installed). I've also helecoiled one of the oil filter threads, and correctly torqued on rebuild, should imagine this is a common failure.

I did a few green lanes to get back in to the sport, leading up to May, did the challenge up North and back (running it in on the way there and then changing oil on arrival). The bike's been parked since. I run it up every 1 or 2 months, the battery is getting a bit low. The starter clutch rattles a little. The left rear indicator bracket broke. The front brakelight switch needs replacing - it's a microswitch so I've discovered it's not the TTR master cylinder but hey it's a great upgrade as the front brake lever feel is solid. I've seen the microswitches on ebay, must be common.

Tyres are those awesome Michelin AC10's 80/100-21 but 120/90-18 rear which fits a treat. Had to pull the back wheel back as previous owner had it further forwards, chain and sprockets renewed at the same time.

Odo says 20k km however with gearing as I received the bike 114kph = 60mph ( I calibrated using GPS). I think I changed the front gearing so this will need re-checking. But, the bike has not done 20k! The gearing is perfect.

Log book says Aug 1997 (it's M reg), with 8 owners. I dare say I was a better owner than the previous guy. MOT expires 28th April.

I have many receipts, I think the bike cost me £1200 or £1400 (I can't remember) but I've put another £600 at least.

Spare tyres included which came with the bike, see picture. Spare barrel and piston just needs clean up, de-coke and rings. Spare gaskets, brand new rear caliper piston (could do with fitting really but brake still works awesome), spare valve shims. I'm sure I have a few more spares as well, whatever I find will go with the bike.

££££Offers please, no silly offers as I'm not desperate for the cash or sale. I could use the space, but if nobody wants to take on those few niggly jobs then I wait until the weather warms up and tackle them myself. It's just having the time.... Call Stew 07834 229792

Small vid of the bike running (taken this morning) is available, and some cool gopro on the old coach road. I can upload to box and share a link if required.
