The plan is to get lost in the Pyrenees for a bit. I want to equalize range with Paul's 300 or it gets very complicated. I don't really want to go the bigger tank route as 99% of the time it wont be needed so strapping fuel on is my favorite at present. I ran big tanks on the 200 and 530 when racing which served a purpose in that I did not have to pit but I dont want to spoil what I like about the Yam.

How long can you wait guys? I will be making a new rack for my OE soon (old version can be seen in "Load carrying" in the Overland section) - just sold my old one, which has paid for a tube bender to make a new one (don't worry, it makes sense to me!) A batch will be feasible. Unfortunately, I am unlikely to get round to anything until mid Feb, which is when my brain will next be clear enough of clutter to think about anything other than preparing for, then actually, riding in Algeria.
I might get round to it sooner, but I can't promise anything as my creative juices only flow when the mood is right.

Top rack might look similar to this, but probably slightly lower profile:

Panier side racks also on the cards...

Yup interested. Put it this way I will not be riding up mountains in February. I will be on Salisbury Plain on Sunday though unlikely to need extra fuel there. biggrin

Yes I would be interested especially if it lower profile. Like Allen I won't be needing it until the spring Bob

Yes I get that ,I too like the look and balance on the TTR so I will probably be following the same route , I have the bolt on tank just need the rack.

I had a B&B rack on my TTR but when I bought the WRR I stripped the TTR to sell & the 1st thing to go was the rack....now I still have the TTR, life goes on

Photos of the rack so you can see what they are like

I didn't like the look of the left hand side mount. Does it attach to the bolt hole for the left side panel?

Yes it uses the top left with a spacer, to remove the air cleaner you have to loosen the bolt & pivot the cover

Cheers Terry

Could you take a photo of your bolt on tank & its position please?- I have an extra acerbis bolt on tank & can only see it fitting above the handlebars...I'm looking for the best fitment before fabricating!

The racks have not arrived yet. I am going the low tech way of foam and straps over a couple of fuel friends but I have used go cart tanks in the past.

It's a standard Rotapax bracket that bolts on to any rack and holds a Rotapax fuel can , carries a us gallon ,

I made my own, I have fabricated and formed a 5 mm plate between the frame and shaped to match the rear mudguard,
I can lift the bike with it, and it doesnt budge with the trolley jack on,
I needed something subtle and low level<
The rack was 99p off Ebay . . .IMAG0166.jpgIMAG0167.jpgIMAG0155.jpg
