...and what a nice bike they are. First thing that was obvious was more power, and it felt sporty and new. I could tell it was a more modern design and riding position setup. Had an aftermarket exhaust and sounded sweet. Its 6 months old and my mate has done 10k on it so far. He is addicted!
I think the suspension was a bit better than the ttr but hardish to tell as it was wet, muddy and a slippery day and the bike had a D606 on the back that was buggered and a front D606 at 18psi! So I couldn't push it too much. If the ttr didn't exist there is no question this would be the bike for me.
Need new/different tyres on it to really tell, but I suspect its a winner. No plans for me to upgrade though, the difference isn't worth the difference in $$ I would have to pay, maybe one day though, maybe. Although wouldn't you know it I crashed my mates bike, heading up a slippery hill climb and I cracked on a little power and the back spun out I went sideways into the bank and dropped the bike...absolutely smashed the crown jewels on the tank cap and when I picked the bike up all the water fell out of the radiator.......
Split the hose coming from the water pump on a rock. Didn't I feel bad then. Luckily I have a good toolkit and got it fixed, good ol silicon rescue tape sorted the split hose, camel pack water into the radiator and off we go. Sheesh.
Although, it wasn't lost on me that, that could never happen to the ttr......
I love my WRR, it's a ripper bike, only drawback was bloody tall, I have dropped it a little & it's perfect, I fitted MT21 enduro tyres & the front grip is unreal.
I also have a pretty good TTR so happy as a pig in ****, the WRR is also really good on fuel
