Soon I'm thinking of restoring my bike back to what it was in 1995 the engine is still good but I'm just wondering how easy it would to get all  the original parts  and whatnot  before i start it. I'm thinking of starting with a complete frame  respray  new wiring harness  new plastics and seat  full sticker kit. As it stands its mostly original now, Ive still got the old pipe and header  Theres only a few  other parts i need chain guard for example  and a few other bits'n pieces if any of you guys have done this before id like a estimation of price and difficulty to get the parts to Aus when i start it most likely will be next year or the one after as I'm saving for a road bike at the moment so any help now or then would be greatly appreciated as this will be a major project for me so ill probably need help. wink ill probably  send the engine into the shop so they can rebuild it cause ill be at loss there unless you guys can coach me through that because i know it will be expensive for that part.

Most parts are still available from the dealers . plenty of Aussie stuff second hand on eBay .maybe keep an eye out for a nice cheap parts one 

Plastics are rare there was a full set in a bike shop near here but has now gone 

 

Frame strip and powder coat 

 

Brian has full rebuild treads on here to work your way through . the best thing to save money is take your time and buy on your terms . looks like you have already sorted that part

White side panels and rear fenders are no longer available new crycrycry

 front fender still available in white but £51.84 which I can get but postage to Australia would be crazy money

All blue panels are still available.

With such a shortage of decent white panels maybe it is time to look at wrapping blue panels in white? Can't be that expensive to do can it?

well that sucks there anyway to bring my current plastics back to looking new if not i may or may not buy blue ones and make em white but wouldnt any scratch reveal the blue underneath the white otherwise i may scour australia till i find good looking ones i may(am) probably the youngest on the forums lol but the bike is only a few years younger then me but it doesnt look young :( ill persevere and hopefully find a way

And, yes, if a painted or wrapped blue panel was scratched it would show the underlying colour.

Anyone tried white wrap on a TTR panel?

I have only ever seen coloured wrap.

hmm ill do some research on finding some white plastics even if there are from overseas nonetheless thanks for the ideas and help ill use the wrap or painting my plastics as a last resort if anyone finds some in good nick in their neck of the woods let me know.
