TTR250 Raid wanted
Permalink

Hi all,

Fortunately stumbled across this forum!

Anyway, a number of years ago I rode a TTR Raid for a week or so in Thailand. Had fantastic time, took some photos of the bike and in the photos I'd managed to cut out both make and model. Some years later I worked out it was a TTR, then a TTR Raid (from the headlight) and I'd love to buy one.

If anyone knows of someone with one to sell please let me know - happy to go anywhere in the UK and have cash to pay!

Road legal, MOT etc.

Thank you for your help,

Will

Welcome to the forum Will!  biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Raids don't often come up for sale so don't discount the Open Enduro model - examples of which are advertised regularly on this forum wink

I saw that one - bit concerned about the work around the oil situ. You have any thoughts?

Thank you btw biggrin

He has a list of parts bought and fitted to the bike, must be a little while ago as there is a business card from Brian and Trish in one of the photos and we took over in June last year.

To sort out a smoker worst case scenario

Re-bore, piston and rings, gaskets, valve stem oil seals?, might as well put in a new timing chain while in there and any other bit's confuse

Can't see it being much less than £200 if you are doing the work yourself.

Looks like the swingarm bearings need a bit of work from the MOT, but saying that there is always a small bit of play, might be it is still OK?

Saying that he has done quite a bit to the bike and it looks pretty good for an old bike.

Shame he is giving it upcry Always sad to hear, one of our members?

If you did buy it and wanted save a bit of time, you could buy this

https://totallyttrs.com/epages/699105d9-e4cc-4b32-b236-84e72cd67f84.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/699105d9-e4cc-4b32-b236-84e72cd67f84/Products/TTR-0206

And I would be interested in buying the old Barrel.

Maybe ask when all the work was done, as it had a sprag fitted, that's a bonus.

Steve

Thanks Steve.

I'm going to hang on for a Raid as that's the model I really want. I don't have masses of time at the moment to get into rectifying wrongs!

Know how that feelsnono

Jump on a Raid straight away, as they do not come up very often.

If you need some advice quickly, send an email to sales@totallyttrs.com and I will help where I can.

Steve

Came across that page actually. Would be such high risk - don't think the shipping would be too costly but buying without seeing...unless anyone else wants to chip in and buy a container load!

Man it's the thought that counts!

Think I might buy it...asked him how much he'll take for cash. Pain in the butt though is that is bloody far from London so may have to buy without seeing.

Looks nice and original. Unmessed with. Wheels look to be undamaged. Quite high mileage/age so be ready for sprag clutch and speedo drive magnet, maybe piston rings and rehone. Can't even see a dent in the tank! Worth a punt.
