I brought an oe a few weekends ago and it was great ran lovely and was a great introduction to dirt bikes. Unfortunetly the second time out with d.lee22 whilst riding back I heard a loud snap. Once the bike was recovered, I removed the rocker cover only to find the cam chain had jumped off the outlet cam shaft gear and the cam shaft siezed solid. Once you have seen the picture you will probably understand why I am so pretty disapointed.
It would be really appreciate it if anyone had some tips on what to do next, or better yet had a good head and shafts etc lying around for sale?
If anyone has please can you message me?
I was hoping my first post on here would be a little more positive!
I am afraid your cylinder head is toast as you will have guessed. The valves have almost certainly come into contact with the piston and likely at least 2 will have been bent.
Before spending out on a replacement head, I would take yours off and check what the barrel and piston look like. I would also be interested to see photos of the underside of the head and of the piston.
The blackening on the cam caps etc look like the TTR has been run with either little or no oil at some stage in its recent life and, if I am right, this will be evidenced on the barrel and piston. If it is, then you are looking at a rebore and replacement cylinder head at the very least.
