Plasti Dip to repair cracks in carb diaphragm

Never heard of Plasti Dip before so had to Google it! Found this - is it the same product you are thinking of using?

The way the diaphragm works is that petrol is drawn in underneath the diaphragm and, when the throttle is cracked open, the plunger pushes the diaphragm down into the small reservoir of petrol and a one-way valve forces it through a small tube to squirt into the carb mouth.

If the product is petrol proof then I would apply it to the underside of the diaphragm so the pressure is pushing the coating into the rubber of the diaphragm rather than trying to push it off - as would happen if you put it on the top side.

Only guessing though!!!!!!

Yes that is the product, did some searching and found out it's not petrol proof. Will keep on searching for a low cost flexible sealant to try until I get a new diaphragm. Thanks for the explanation on how the diaphragm works!
