am i right in thinking the cyl head & barrell can be removed with engine in bike  because i need to do my stem seals bike is running fine leave on side stand for a couple of hours when hot on restart it smokes on set off while it clears

many thanks martin i cant find cyl head torque 4 main bolts 2 small bolts there is a tool to lock it all to put chain on also cant find

Hi John

I didn't make it particularly clear but the torque settings and tightening sequence are on that "how to" page.

Head bolts 40Nm, the two external side nuts 20Nm and the internal long Allen bolts 10Nm.

Not sure what you mean about a locking tool - sorry. You don't need one to put the timing chain on.

bit of a fiddly job, but yes it can be done.

If you are going to do it John can I suggest that after taking the tank off you give the frame and wiring etc above the head a darn good power wash as you don't want any dirt or grit falling into the engine when you have opened it.
