I have a slight oil leak when trying to get my Ttr to start.....it's leaking from the metal piping that's connects the top end to bottom end .....the bolt it's right below the exhaust pipe on the right side just above the oil filter housing I believe ....any ideas on how to stop it from leaking ? Should I tap out the hole and put a insert in coil in there?
If the thread in the clutch cover is stripped then you have no alternative but to Helicoil it.
If the thread is still intact then you may cure the leak by annealing the copper washers to soften them - heat them to cherry red and dash into cold water.
Think you are looking down the right track you will be looking at a Time Sert Insert of some type one over size so it will re-take the bolt. I have only used m6 an spark plug size one's made by Wurth before an found them far better than the helicoil wire type. if in doubt take it to a Motor Engineer. Brian beat me to it but looking at the pic it's the case thread that's stripped out

helicoils are now dated you are better getting a timesert fitted be vary carefull with the swarf when cutting new thread with it being an oilway i would rather take the casing off to make sure the swarf is blown out from inside out
