Does yout TTR pop at all while off and cooling down?

My TTR had a popping cough prior to a carb rebuild and some other minor maint.  Pretty much all of the popping cough is gone but I am still hearing a pop and tick while the bike is turned off and cooling down.....sort of like a car does after a drive on a hot summer day.  Is this normal?

Air cooled engines run pretty hot. Add the cooler winter temperatures to that, YES it could "pop" "sort of like a car does after a drive on a hot summer day." until it cools off.

If it "snaps", "crackles" & "pop's", start to worry biggrinbiggrin ...sorry for the pun

yep mine does, hot metal contracting again as it cools.
