After a few months of prevarication, on my part, I accepted an invite from Jim, a trail riding buddy from many years ago, to go out on a local run with him and three mates.
It took me a little while to dig out my winter riding gear etc but I was ready when Jim passed by to pick me up on the way to meet t'others.
Jim - Suzuki Djebel 250, Kevin - Honda CRF250L, Kelvin - Husky 450, Malc - WR250F
We had a great run. We were out for nearly 4 hours, covered 42 miles and rode 39 different lanes. Plenty enough for my first trail ride in many months
The mud on the lanes was sloppy from all the rain which meant good grip unlike when the mud starts to dry and gets slithery.
The weather was kind to us and we saw no rain.
I live near the Lympstone Marine camp and we passed a squad of recruits out on a yomp:
I was a bit slow on the camera in a lane where two of our small company surfed the turf. My photos only caught the aftermath with both bike and rider upright
The following photo was taken on a UCR on Woodbury Common (one of very few on the Common) and proves we had sunshine
There was some ford action but the water was low and everyone stayed upright. Kevin makes his CRF250L look small!
No punctures or mechanical issue and everyone made it safely back to Jim's for home-made soup and bread followed by cake and several mugs of tea
I have left the bike dirty so as to encourage me to go out again soon!
this looks good brian cant wait to get mine finished just sprag clutch & speedo most things done now then going out with my son & friends they have ktm 450 enduros
