This would explain why I've had little power since I got it all sorted now.

Wonder what the cause was ? Poorly adjusted clearances ? Whats the valve seat look like ?

The valve seat isn't damaged funally enough but I have replaced the head with a spare after a machining accedent at work I'm thinking the valve has broken down with exsessive heat and poor quality fuel.

They were okay when I checked them but as stated it has been down in power since I got it I just put it down to being a slowish bike then it got really bad one day to the point of didn't have enough power to get out of 4th gear thought compression and found this and in skimming the head the bearings in lathe collapsed so had to get a new head very expensive but managed to buy a complete engine with a failed main bearing for 140 quid with a complete exhaust.
