cold checked compression it was done so new piston and rings have been fitted valves relapped new stem seals timing chasing and cam drive gears built up and runs great once warm so I stripped the carb cleaned everything and rebuilt still the same I have noticed the the link pipe from carb to airbox is split near what I think is called the scavenger box bit would this cause the poor start from cold? And could I replace with a pecie of silicone pipe as I have heaps of it?
Thanks keith

I looked at some of the intake boots on my spare airboxes and some have suffered damage in that area. Just to check, is it in the area I have arrowed in the pic below?
If not too bad then silicone should seal it otherwise drop me an email if you need a replacement.
Yes that's the part I ment :) I will try silicone tmrrow it runs perfect I did 300 miles today with a local bike meet over 100 bikes on a poker run over the licht ski range and beyond once it was hot first push of the bottom and she was off its confusing me I'm getting to the point maybe trying a new carb it annoying
