I did I really like them. I bought the bike for 800 with a years test I put rear pads in but that consumable wheels and fork for 200 including tyres then I've spent around 80 at totallyttr not including a disc for standard front wheel just waiting for a rep lament headlight mask that i ordered today so all in 1100 and some cleaning but I'm not happy with the frame it really needs painted.

Sorry to hear of the problem Keith!

The only way the chain could have jumped is if it is worn (or has stretched) or the tensioner has failed.

Were the timing marks parallel with the head? If one is tilted it indicates a worn chain.

That looks about perfect Keith. The trouble is that if you can't identify what caused the problem then it might happen again. You were lucky not to have been hurt when it threw you off - this time.....

The only other thing that I can think of is that maybe one or both of the chain slippers might be damaged?

Really sorry to hear that Keith.

I would have thought it difficult to move on a TTR engine without advertising it which is where keeping an eye on Gumtree and eBay is essential.

Do you have a photo of the finished engine and the engine number? If so, put them up here so that we can keep an eye out for it.

Also publicly Facebook it and let us have the link to share.

I am happy to post it on our Totally TTRs Facebook page as well but, ideally, need a photo and the engine number.

Hope you get it back mate!

Good luck.

Brian

All I ever seem to hear about now is poor people having their bloody stuff robbed, Jeez it makes me sick.

Mind you its hardly surprising all these people are turning to crime now with diminished police budget and such an easy life in prison, thats even if they ever get sent to prison.

nohmm

Long shot but dont suppose anyone near you have cctv in operation chances are a vehicle is involved youre not exactly going to walk along with an engine far .work out routes in and out and rough time.Sadly police are not much help in this sort of crime and the more you can do yourself the better .😠low life people like these get away with it too much these days..

I know you are not me but I would be looking at this motor on the bay if your cutting skill's an welding can take it have a go I think it would near fit right in. just a little playing with the twin port exhaust and twin carb's an away you go. I have a pair of carbs hear if you are looking to go this way you can have them

Thanks for thinking like that pug I've thought about engine swaps and a wr250f engine has been high on the list but I've put the bike to the back of the workshop and covered it I just can't justify spending anymore money just now sadly.

Link hear Keith to the frame chop on the xr think you will have to chop the bottom out as well to get it in the motor in the xt is used as a stress member same as old honda XL's i then made a 1/4 plate steel bash plate to hold the motor an rejoin the bottom of the frame it did not really need it but i needid somewhere to remount the foot pegs i had to cut the top tube an ad a wee bit in that as well as the XL motor was longer but a welder an grinder can make anything fit any anything with a little work

Congratulations and well done.

Perhaps the PCs should be advised of your "Sed associate"? confuse

It would, perhaps, make him more reluctant to repeat his misdemeanor and make the area that bit safer.

I have informed the local police I had reported it stolen. To be honest he wasn't worth me getting in trouble for fighting I have a family to think of but I'm happy it hasn't been money wasted building it.

Good news you must be a very calm an cool chap me on the other hand would have lost my cool full stop I had a bike go walkabouts about 20 years back an if I had found out who it was it would have been a trip up onto the Moor in the back of the van for them at night with a pick an shovel an only one of us would be coming back for breakfast. it stills give me the hump thinking about it now an it was some 20 years back.

Horrible ain't it, I just dunno why people have to be such light fingered pr**ks. If it ain't yours leave it well alone.

If it aint bikes its the bloody bits that go in the bikes!

There are 10,000 bikes stolen in London every year. How about they start policing the issue rather than TRYING to police the crimes that happen aboard the stolen motorcycles! Two steps back

I'm gonna sound like a idiot here but up here well 50 miles from me there is avrage 2 bikes stolen a night ranging from mopeds to recently a 2012 fireblade the problem here is the police don't have the training and right to give chase if they see them so a no chase policy witch is stupid hence y they get away with it.
